Establish new business relationships, beef up your contact list, and increase your revenue. There comes a time when we all must place that dreaded Cold Call. Here are a few tips but most of all, try to be yourself:
1. Get to the point, QUICK!
Let your contact know who you are and why you are calling but don’t stop there. Also be sure that the goal of your call is clear in the beginning.
2. It’s a process!
Plan for two or three rounds of calling. There will be followups and call backs. You may spend the first round getting to know the contacts better. Who are they? How much time do they have and when? What makes them tick?
3. Keep it light!
Laugh, smile, and provide interesting information. Break the monotony of their day but be conscious of their time.
